Varsity: Central Valley 1, Ceres 0
In the biggest game of the season to date, the Hawks looked towards their ace, Chris Garcia for the jolt that they needed. Chris took the mound for the Hawks and he continued his record breaking Senior season with a dominating performance when it mattered most. In the battle for 1st place, Garcia used just 92 pitches to throw a complete game, shutout as he limited the Bulldogs to 2 singles as he struck out 13. The Hawks needed every bit of Chris’s performance as the offense did just enough to pull off the win. In the 4th inning, Caden Mendonca’s RBI double plated Carter Hernandez and the Hawks held on the for huge 1-0 win. This victory moved CV’s overall record to 15-7 overall and 11-0 in WAC play (CV ranked #12 in SJS DI). The table is now set for the Hawks as they look to officially clinch the WAC title this Thursday (tomorrow) at 4:00pm here at CV. Come out tomorrow to enjoy the beautiful weather and a great baseball matchup between the Hawks and the Bulldogs. Good luck to our baseball team as they look to lock up the league title tomorrow!
